People credit a protective Holmes with trying to give Suri as normal life as is possible under the circumstances, while raising her in New York City. Suri attended a private elementary school in Calabasas, California before moving to New York City with her mom and attending a private academy in Manhattan. The school, which also has campuses in Brazil and China, is reportedly the most expensive high school in America. Over the years, reports have surfaced that the teenager misses having her dad in her life. Back in 2018, HollywoodLife reported that Suri was “desperate” to see Tom, given that their only interaction involved him sending gifts on her birthday. Tom Cruise hadn't reportedly wanted to reach out to Suri Cruise for her 13th birthday, according to Hollywood Life in 2019.
Personal Life:
The actor has been accused of putting his religion before his daughter, with ex-Scientologists claiming he has been ordered to shun Katie and Suri as non-believers. This time, Katie wore a pair of flared jeans with a black and white striped jumper while her husband wore a long-sleeved shirt instead. Meanwhile, Tom and Katie appeared to be spending some quality time together in the state's capital and were seen holding hands as they strolled in the sunshine. Her older brother looked less bright wearing black jeans and a checked shirt as he walked closely behind his sister. Amid her Off-Broadway play, ‘The Wanderers’, Katie Holmes revealed during a new interview on Mar. 28, that her daughter, Suri, has watched her show ‘Dawson’s Creek’. They moved there and have enjoyed a metropolitan life in the Big Apple ever since Katie divorced Suri’s dad, Tom Cruise, in 2012.

In fact, only a few days after her birth, Cruise described the experience to "20/20" and still seemed in awe of everything he witnessed (via ABC News). He said, "It was everything that we wanted it to be. ... It was spiritual. It was powerful. It was indescribable."

Tom’s film career is taking on new heights with the upcoming sequel to Top Gun, while Suri has been living it up as a teenager in the Big Apple. Suri Cruise is an American celebrity kid who is famous for being the daughter of celebrity parents, actor and producer Tom Cruise, and actress Katie Holmes. Thanks to her parents, she landed in the tabloid and fashion spotlight at a very young age. She made her on-screen singing debut in her mother's film "Alone Together", which was released in theaters on July 22, 2022.

With the endless amount of privileges Suri has, she made sure not to "inundate her daughter with a lot of things" (via Today). Despite being decked out in designer clothes as a child, Holmes made it clear that although Suri is privileged enough to be wealthy, that doesn't exclude her from working like everyone else. At 12 years old, Suri seemed to pick up on this as she ran her own lemonade stand at New York City's LGBT Pride parade in 2018.

Katie Holmes Admits Daughter Suri, 16, Has Seen ‘Dawson’s Creek’: ‘It’s ‘Weird’
With her good manners, behavior, and undeniable beauty, it is only a matter of time before she finds someone special and falls in love. As she continues to grow and mature, it will be interesting to see how her personal life unfolds and how she navigates the challenges that come with fame and fortune. Although attending a $40,000 per year private school while living in a $25,000-a-month penthouse apartment on the upper west side of Manhattan isn't exactly normal, Holmes does her best to give Suri Cruise the chance to have a private life. Despite run-ins with paparazzi, Suri's appearance in public is usually alongside her mother. When Holmes first moved to New York after her divorce in 2012, she stated that she felt overwhelmed by the amount of attention she was getting (via InStyle). "That time was intense. It was a lot of attention, and I had a little child on top of it," Holmes told the publication.

The independent teen, who has been spotted out-and-about by herself in recent months, was snapped on July 17, 2020 hitting up Vint & York Eyewear in New York’s SoHo neighborhood, looking very on-trend in a pair of black wide-legged pants. She paired the jeans with a blush pink tank top and a neon pink protective face mask. While Suri was stunning in the trendy pants, her mom was nearby in the New York neighborhood of Nolita wearing the same style! She donned high-waisted, wide-legged jeans in a light wash blue color while running errands. Holmes welcomed her first and only child, daughter Suri Cruise, 18, on April 18, 2006, in Los Angeles with then-husband Tom Cruise.
Suri Cruise doesn't see her father that often
Suri was last spotted with Holmes, 45, last month as the mother-daughter duo walked through Soho with big smiles on their faces. Suri Cruise, the 17-year-old daughter of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise, was photographed looking just like her famous mother as she bundled up on a walk in New York City Sunday. Katie was carrying what looked like one of Suri's cuddly toys, so no doubt the pair were off to reunite with their young daughter and enjoy the rest of their time in Baton Rouge. However, the 17-year-old, who was adopted by the Hollywood star during his marriage to Nicole Kidman, opted against a ride on a tram to see the local sights and let his sibling enjoy it with people her own age.

With Suri turning 18 on Thursday, she and her mother Katie Holmes should no longer receive the reported $400,000 a year Cruise paid as part of a divorce settlement. Cruise also agreed to pay Suri’s college and health care costs, Page Six added. The due were spotted holding hands as they enjoyed a family day out with their famous father Tom, 49, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, yesterday. Holmes admitted to InStyle in 2020 that the city isn't quite as private as she'd like, but she said that the city is just right for her and Suri. She shared, "What I love about New York is that for me and my child, this is our vibe." The friend added that Cruise has a lot of love for Suri, and that being this distant from his daughter wasn't something he anticipated when he and Katie Holmes welcomed Suri to the world.
It's clear Katie Holmes wants nothing but the world for her daughter, but she also wants her to understand the role that privilege plays in the Holmes household. It's merely a construct that allows her to have a great life, not something that determines worth and value. In addition to this, there are a lot of other anecdotes about her life that may shock us. To explore that notion further, here are a few things we know about Suri Cruise's life at home. Tom Cruise’s three ex-wives, Mimi Rogers, Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes, probably would have a lot to say about being married to the famously intense mega-star and their time inside his beloved Church of Scientology. "One would hope there would be more newsworthy items to cover, and publications would avoid reporting as 'facts' claims from anonymous sources peddling such obvious misrepresentations."
She did share in a 2019 interview with Elle UK, however, that she loved “growing up” with her daughter. Even though the custody agreement struck between Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes makes it clear that he can see their daughter, Suri Cruise, for 10 days a month, it seems like he hasn't been able to make that happen. On top of that, a source apparently close to the situation told Us Weekly that this seems to be a deliberate choice that Cruise is making. The source told the publication, "Every person is allowed to see their child if they wanted to. He chooses not to because she is not a Scientologist." From her earlier years in ballet to her now natural aptitude for singing, Suri's freedom to engage in extracurricular activities shaped her into the multi-talented teenager she is today. While Holmes can pat herself on her back for raising such a capable individual, Suri's "strong personality" also had a heavy hand in how she went about conquering certain goals.
The following year, Cruise gave a deposition in his $50 million court fight against a pair of tabloid magazines and admitted that Holmes filed for divorce “to protect Suri from Scientology,” court documents revealed, Page Six reported. Per The Sun, Suri's older half-siblings Isabella and Connor are Scientologists, but she is reportedly not. In 2019, Us Weekly reported that it had been several years since Cruise had seen Suri. Even more shocking is the idea that the Church of Scientology allegedly doesn't allow relationships with parents and their children who aren't Scientologists, as one former member claimed to Us Weekly (the church disputes this, however). Since their move to New York City, Katie Holmes seems to dislike drawing attention to herself and her beloved daughter. While we all know about their adorable relationship, we only see glimpses of it through brief responses in interviews and quick snapshots on Holmes' Instagram.
